This year 12th issue of Shueisha Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is revealing more details and a new visual on Monday for the upcoming 6 anime in the Yu-Gi-Oh! television anime franchise. In The new series is titled Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS, and it will feature VR duels.

In The new anime will feature characters using leading edge technology to create a virtual space where they will host the VR duels. The show’s protagonist is Yusaku Fujiki, and his ace monster is named Decode Talker, who wields a giant sword. Yusaku transforms from his school uniform when he enters the VR space for the duels. He also has different color hairs after he transforms, and he also rides a surf board while dueling.

Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS will premiere in this spring on TV Tokyo. The theme for the new work is Let’s take one step forward and try it! Yusaku hates standing out, and at his school he doesn’t. However, Yusaku starts meeting others through the duels, and starts moving forward.

The 5 and ongoing anime in the franchise, Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V, premiered in Japan in the April 2014. The series premiered on TV in Canada in the August 2015, and premiered in the United States on the Nicktoons channel in the February 2016. Crunchyroll began streaming the series worldwide outside of Asia in the November.
